Many of us have worked all night to get something done, and we’ve probably felt pretty tired when we woke up the next morning.
If you’ve ever had to sacrifice sleep, food, or personal hygiene for the purpose of completing a task or meeting a deadline, you know what I’m talking about. We often ignore self-care to perform well in your career, but ignoring self-care regularly can cause problems. Your health may suffer while you are not accomplishing nearly as much as you had hoped.
When you take care of yourself first, you keep yourself in good health and stay productive. People who go consistently do without quality sleep on a regular basis, or rely on processed food instead of nutritious meals, will not be as physically or mentally fit. In the long run, these unhealthy habits make you give less over time.
On the other hand, if you get enough sleep on a regular basis, and make a point of having a healthy diet, you will have more to give to your work. The body is a machine that needs to be maintained in order to operate at peak performance. Having enough sleep is essential to having enough energy to get through the day. A healthy diet will also help the body perform at its best. And just like all machines, when you have been maintained, your will be more alert, focus better, and not as fatigued. Overall you will do more and be more.
Self Care Throughout the Workday
These are some simple areas to get started on your self care. Remember, it’s okay to overextend yourself for short and temporoary periods of time, just not all the time.
Sleep
Make sure you get enough sleep. You need your rest to properly function
Exercise for self care
There are many benefits to exercise, including improved health, reduced stress, and increased energy levels. Exercise can also help you feel better about yourself, boost your confidence, and improve your mood. In addition, exercise can reduce your risk of developing certain diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.

Stay away from processed foods. Yes they are conventient, but we all know that the are not the best for us.

Even when you have deadlines and you are trying your hardest to meet them, you still need a break. Easily take the time to get up from your desk and walk around.
Go for a Walk
A walk doean’t have to be outside. It can be just as enjoyable indoors. Walking is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy the scenery at the same time.
Do Something for Someone Else
Doing something for someone else is a great way to practice giving and receiving, and it’s a great way to build trust in a relationship. This is a very simple way to get into the heart of a relationship. There are many ways to do this, but the most important thing is to give without expecting anything in return.
Read for Productivity or your enjoyment
The thing about reading is that it can be both enjoyable and productive. You can read for enjoyment, but you can also read to learn. The key is to find something you enjoy reading and then read as much as you can.
Laugh
Learn to laugh at your mistakes and you’ll find that it’s not really a big hinderence when things don’t go according to plan.
