Strategies that your Increase Motivation and Productivity
Do you sometimes get that feeling of deja vu? When you feel as though everything you’ve done is really going to waste, like you’ve already gone through this before and you’re getting the same old same old? You know you’re not doing your best at work and you’re starting to feel uninspired?
Well, it might be time to take a break and get a little inspiration to jumpstart your motivation again.
Simple things to do to boost productivity
There are a few simple things you can do to boost your productivity.
- Take short breaks.
- Set yourself different types of incentives.
- Keep tracking progress as you achieve them.
- Have a clear goal in mind.
- Break down goals into days or weeks.
How to get motivated at work
Most people would love to be more productive at work, but it’s often easier said than done.
It’s a common problem among people who work in a corporate environment. In fact, productivity is the top challenge facing people at work. Motivation is the fuel of productivity. Without it, we could never achieve anything, let alone become successful at our jobs.
We’ve all been there. Whether it’s to meet a deadline or to meet a quota, we often find ourselves being so focused on our goals that we lose sight of everything else.
Inevitably, this happens. Sooner or later, we find ourselves being pulled in multiple directions, spending hours on tasks that don’t really add up to anything.
When people find themselves with a lot to do at work, the first thing that tends to happen is that they try to get more done in less time. This typically leads to a vicious cycle of:
- Long hours to try to meet goals that are unrealistic to begin with.
- Feling overwhelmed by the task at hand and give up.
- Their boss has no idea what they’re doing and gives them even more work.
This kind of scenario is very common and overtime you will have burnout. And burnout is what we are avoiding.
Here’s what I want you to focus on :
Above all. Focus on yourself. Don’t worry about anyone or anything else. You should be your own motivator.
You have the power to increase your motivation to perform at an all-time high.
A great way to get excited about the work you are doing is to figure out what results you will get by doing it. It’s a simple concept and yet it is rarely discussed.
I’d wager that most of us don’t talk about our goals and aspirations in the workplace because we are afraid it will negatively impact our position or relationship with the boss.
However, sharing goals is an essential element of accountability. It provides you with a benchmark to know whether you are doing what you should be doing at any given moment. It also provides a valuable framework for feedback and collaboration.
Find someone you respect and are inspired by, and ask them about their goals. Ask them what they’ve done to achieve their goals and what advice they’d give to other people trying to reach those goals.
Trust Yourself
You don’t have to be perfect to succeed. It might not always feel like that, but you probably have more potential than you think.
We’ve all heard about the “imposter syndrome” — that feeling you get when you doubt yourself and wonder if you’re good enough. Or when you get told you’re not cut out for something, and it’s hard to remember that other people have gotten through the same challenges and come out stronger.
We’ve all been there, and we’ve all felt those feelings. But the thing is, when you feel it, it’s usually because you’re comparing yourself to someone else. The person who came out on top may not be an expert or an overnight success, but they have a few things working for them:
- They were more determined to succeed than you are.
- They weren’t afraid to fail.
- They trusted their gut more than you do.
- They had a plan and stuck to it.
Don’t worry about what others think
They aren’t judging you for what you’re doing. They aren’t going to think less of you. And they definitely aren’t thinking anything negative about you, because they don’t know you.
Don’t let others’ opinions and assumptions about you get in the way of your success. You can’t let them define you or your career path. You’re the only one who knows what you want.
You are the only one who’s going to benefit from your hard work and dedication.
And even if they do, so what?
If they’re worried that you’re not motivated enough, that’s not their problem. You’re the one who needs to work on that.
If they are really worried about you, they are either jealous or don’t fully understand. And guess what that’s their problem, definitely not yours.
They can see the results you’ve achieved and that makes them envious. Don’t let the “haters” get to you, stay motivated, stay focused, and keep working toward your goal.
Create a Reward System for Your Great Work
Your reward system is a simple tool to keep you focused on your goals and boost moral. It’s crucial that this reward system is tailored to you. and to each to your interests and goals.
When you accomplish something and you see the positive results, give yourself a reward. These awards should compliment the accomplishment in size. This could be a small thing, like a treat, or something bigger, like a night out.
- If you’re working towards a goal that takes a lot of effort, give yourself a smaller reward after a few weeks of steady growth.
- If you’re working towards a goal that takes a lot of time, give yourself a bigger reward every month. It’s really up to you how you choose to reward yourself.
Keep in mind:
A reward should be something that you are willing to pay for. When you have a reason to get something done, you will be more likely to do it. If you do not want to pay money for a thing, you may as well not do it.
It is important to keep in mind that a reward system is not a punishment system. Punishment systems have the effect of diminishing a person’s self-esteem and willingness to comply with a given set of rules or expectations.
It can be anything from setting a date for yourself to complete a task to something more tangible. Some people like to set a dollar amount they’d like to hit, and then celebrate every time they reach it. Others prefer to set milestones, or even try to keep track of everything they accomplish.
Whatever method you choose, the key is sticking to it. Over time you will want to achieve more.
Recognize your past work and accomplishments
When you do this you will be able to see where you need to grow and also how far you’ve come. When you recognize where you need to grow and focus on improving those areas, you will be more motivated and productive. Your work will be quality work.
You will begin to feel proud and feel valued of yourself. You’ll start to think about all of the hard work you’ve put in. You’ll remember all of the things you’ve accomplished. You’ll remember the things you’ve been able to do.
When you think about your past accomplishments, you’ll find it easier to stay motivated when times get tough.
Use the following exercise to help you recognize your past successes and accomplishments, and feel more confident in your ability to create new ones.
Write a list of your biggest accomplishments on paper, whether they’re related to personal or professional development. For each accomplishment, write down the date you completed it, what the accomplishment was, and how it helped you.
Then, write down another list of your biggest accomplishments, and do the same thing.
Stay curious and be open-minded
When you are open minded, you are naturally curious.
For instance, you may be a very good employee in your current position, but if you do not feel excited about learning new skills, you will not try to improve yourself.
If you constantly want to learn new things, you will always have a passion for your career and your life. We are constantly learning new things to keep up with the times and also to improve our lives. In order to stay motivated, you need to be curious about the things you are learning and you need to be open to new things.
If you always want to learn new things, you will always have a passion for your career and your life. You will constantly want to improve yourself, your skills, and your knowledge. If you always want to learn new things, you will always have a passion for your career and your life. You will constantly want to improve yourself, your skills, and your knowledge.
Career Advancement
If you want to move up, you need to develop and maintain a solid set of motivation, otherwise you will feel like you’re being pushed up a cliff by forces outside of your control. You might be inspired by the person next to you on the ladder, or maybe you need to follow your gut. Whatever your motivation, the bottom line is that if you don’t take care of yourself and take your career seriously, you won’t see any real advancement or promotion.
Sometimes you just need to remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing to feel motivated.
Your job title might be changing or your responsibilities may be expanding, your mindset and passion for your career shouldn’t be affected.
That means that you can always find a way to stay motivated no matter what happens to your title, your department, or even your company.
Some things to keep in mind:
Realize that career advancement comes from two places:
- Your personal passion for what you do
- The company’s needs for you to perform at the highest level possible
If you’re passionate about what you’re doing, you’ll find a way to stay engaged with intrinsic motivation, even when things get difficult. If you feel unmotivated, you’ll continue to fight for the cause that’s important to you. If you’re excited to be part of an amazing team, you’ll put your best effort forward every day. If you don’t, why should your manager, your company, or your colleagues?
Take a look at the company’s needs. If you’re not happy where you are, you have options. You can either accept what you’re given and find a way to fit in, or you can use your talents to help the company grow. Either way, you will find a way to keep moving up.
Conclusion
Motivation is the secret to your success. It’s something you need in order to perform at your highest level. Whether you work at home, in the office, or somewhere in between, your motivation is the biggest factor in determining whether you’re going to be successful or not.
It’s no secret that we all face days where we feel less inspired, but if you really want to make your life easier, then you need to make it a point to create new reasons to be motivated.
