A site refresh is in progress with lots of coffee.

About Cathy Gray

Marketing and eCommerce by day. Trails, waterfalls, and local spots on the weekends.
Based in Metro Atlanta. Fueled and caffeinated by coffee.

I'm Cathy Gray — an eCommerce and digital marketing professional who builds things from zero and grows them into something that matters.

Professionally

My clearest proof of that: in late 2018, I took on the eCommerce operation at Atlanta Rubber & Hydraulics with no prior industry knowledge and no roadmap. I launched the store within six months, managed a catalog of 8,000+ SKUs across 750 categories and two websites, ran PPC on a $3,000/month budget with a 3.52% CTR and 694K+ impressions, and grew the platform from $0 to $500K in annual sales in four years. I wasn't just running the marketing. I owned everything from product data and order management to SEO strategy and ERP migration.

That's 8+ years of in-house experience doing the full job. I've owned eCommerce operations on WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, and several industry-specific platforms. I've managed cross-functional projects alongside sales, IT, operations, and leadership teams. And I've done it in both B2B and B2C environments — industrial supply on one end, consumer retail on the other.

On the SEO side, the work I did at Atlanta Rubber & Hydraulics produced seven consecutive years of organic growth through multiple Google algorithm updates. At Tipco Technologies, keyword rankings grew from 7,500 to 10,000 during a post-acquisition transition period.

My toolkit includes Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Merchant Center, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, HotJar, Mailchimp, and a deep familiarity with ERP systems including DDI Inform, Epicor, and Microsoft Dynamics. I can sit in a technical conversation with an IT team or a creative conversation with a design team and hold my own in both.

Personally

No matter the adventure, from a day trip to an extended weekend. Outside of work, I'm usually somewhere outdoors, hiking, kayaking or camping with Sam and friends. I'm based in Metro Atlanta which puts the mountains and water at least an hour drive away.

My adventures keep me sane. I'd rather enjoy life now because tomorrow is never guaranteed. Whether it's paddling down a river, setting up camp, or simply enjoying a beautiful sunset from a mountain, the outdoors is where I recharge.

Give me a good campfire and I'm happy.

Philosophy

Work hard, play hard. Easy to say, harder to actually live. For a long time work and adventure felt like they were competing for the same hours.

Then the mindset shifted. Work isn't the obstacle to adventure: it's the vehicle that funds it. And adventure isn't slacking off: it's the reset that makes the work better. Getting outside clears my head in a way nothing else does. I come back sharper, clearer, and ready to dig back in. Once that clicked, it was a game changer.

The two aren't separate things: they're the same drive pointed in different directions. Coffee ties it all together. It always has.

What Fuels Me

Yeap, you guessed it. Coffee!

Non-negotiable, no apologies and no regrets.

My Travel Buddy

Sam. At 16, he has traded hiking trails and kayaking for campfire warmth, a full bowl, and all the attention he can get.

Honestly, not a bad retirement plan.
